  • I enjoyed lamb shank, greek salad, and baklava last night thanks to you all. Everything arrived hot and on time. What a concept here where "Island time" is the norm. This was the second time ordering through Food Fairies and it won't be my last! I'm going through some health issues and my family is so relieved that I can get a wonderful variety of delicious food without prepping, cooking, and cleaning up after making a meal.   • Our meal from Ephesus was wonderful. We especially loved the moussaka, the giant beans, the melitzana and the short ribs with bucatini. Two of us pronounced the dolmas, the best ever. We didn't even order dolmas, but we sere happy to have received them! The servings were ample and still hot on arrival. Thank you food fairies for this brilliant service, and thank you Ephesus for the delicious meal. We WILL be back.

  • I was crying to my sister that there is no DoorDash on Vashon for the nights I’m too exhausted to haul myself to Thriftway. She told me about Vashon Food Ferry and it seemed a wish too good to be true. But I ordered that same day and, like magic, by dinner time a beautiful meal arrived right at my door ready to eat. And they have different restaurants each night and I’m in heaven.

  • Our Grillbird order was perfect. Their teriyaki is much better than local offerings and the beef and broccoli was also excellent. Generous and fresh salads too. All arrived nicely warm , or cold, in separate bags, delivered congenially by Joshua. The message system seems flawless in terms of updates and ETA. Even though we eat early dinners,it was worth the wait til 6:40. We even have enough for a small lunch today. Glad I ordered!

  • I was not expecting to love Grillbird as much as I did. It is so much more than your standard teriyaki fare. The sauce was light and delicious and the sides were amazing! I got the spicy cucumber salad and beets. I was able to eat maybe a quarter of this feast before I was full so I have three more meals. If you break it down by cost per meal, it becomes an amazing deal. Of course, one of the best parts of the whole experience is how responsive and caring the folks at food ferry are. We love the updates and the food always arrives warm. Will definitely be ordering again.

  • We ordered Ethiopian and, my oh MY was is delightful! Our order arrived at the exact minute (7:15) Joshua and Franny anticipated delivery. We didn’t get home from work until later and didn’t eat until 8:30. Our food was still piping hot in temp and as spicy as expected. It was DELICIOUS! Ten outta ten we will be ordering more dinners from Vashon Food Ferry!

  • I have to admit, I was skeptical of the process of ordering, paying and receiving my order, but the experience exceeded any expectations. From the very moment I made my order to the texts and communication leading up to delivery, I was impressed with all of the effort. I ordered sushi and was pleasantly surprised that the rolls were near as fresh as if I had picked it up and brought it home myself. Thank you for streamlining your process and making off-island food available to us Vashonites.

  • GrillBird was OUTSTANDING! During the pandemic, our family has tried many meal options including HomeChef, Sun Basket, and local takeout. We all agreed that GrillBird was absolutely the best that we have had from Vashon Food Ferry and the best that we have had during the pandemic! The beef was amazing, super tender and delightful. Even the chicken was something to brag about. Our only small disappointment was that the cabbage salad was only cabbage with dressing on the side. Next time we will order two of the beet salads because that was a favorite.

  • I got my first delivery on 8/30 from Mashiko and it was a great experience! My order was correct and unlike the post office, the delivery person actually came to my door :) I also really appreciated the communicativeness (is that a word? idk, I liked getting a lot of texts) throughout the process updating me on the status. My only tiny nitpick is that it would have been even better if the sushi were maybe 5 degrees cooler, but it was definitely still cool so not a big deal at all!

  • DELICIOUS FOOD ALERT Hey all. I’m here to tell you about the Food Ferry. This is not an ad. I received nothing for these statements. This is a flag I’m planting deep into the soil of a cliff, for all to see and know, completely under my own accord. The Vashon Food Ferry is a service where you can place your order at various off-island restaurants and they pick up the food in a motorized trike (can skip the ferry line) and store it in a hot box or cold box depending on the food, and deliver it to wherever you’d like back here on Vashon. I will say, I regularly eat at EVERY SINGLE restaurant on Vashon. I like to keep my money as locally as I can, and almost every day I enjoy at least one entrée from a Vashon establishment. And I always tip big. But I’m also a foodie, and we let nirvana go, and we let wok in take out burn to the ground, and green ginger left, and even stupid red bike sushi is gone, and there are gaps to our flavor palette I believe need to be filled from time to time. The Food Ferry answers this call. They answered the phone tonight and delivered 7 flavor beef from Lee’s Asian and it was fucking fantastic. My tastebuds are ablaze with complex Szechuan, peanut, ginger, lemongrass flavors. I say hit them up, if you feel so inclined. It’s fire.
